Ever searched for yourself and didn’t get the results you’d quite like?
Ever been disappointed when searching for someone yet its not quite the person you were looking for?
Google are now allowing Google profiles to appear in search queries, this will give users the ability to claim their identity and better control what people see and help users find what they’re looking for. Google are also providing links so it's easy to search for the same name on MySpace, Facebook, Classmates and LinkedIn
Google have allowed users to create profiles since the end of 2007 for use with certain Google services, in the new system, a new “Profile results” section will appear at the bottom of a Google search page, when it finds a strong match in response to a name-based search. Up to four profiles will be shown:
Overall Google has shown a large number of different improvements to their system and continuing to better search results is a key objective for Google. Moving forward I think that providing users with profile search gives them a more personal feel and it is a great tool for those who would like their name up in lights! |
